A collection centre is a local facility where recyclable waste is received, weighed, paid for, sorted and baled before it travels to a washing or recycling plant. It is the link between the people who recover waste and the industry that recycles it.
A well-run centre does more than store material. It records who supplied each lot, which creates the traceability that EPR and recycled-content certification require, and it offers waste workers fair weights, transparent prices and safer working conditions. Lucro runs its own network of 45+ collection centres, which buy from local waste pickers and aggregators. Its sorting hubs are called Avkaar Kendras.
