Recycled Granules

Recycled granules are small, uniform pellets of plastic produced by recycling waste. They are the standard form in which recycled plastic is sold, because they can be stored, conveyed and processed on the same machines as virgin plastic granules.

They are made by sorting, washing and shredding plastic waste, melting and filtering it through extrusion, and cutting the melt by pelletizing. Granules are sold by polymer, such as rLDPE, rHDPE and rPP, and by grade, each defined by its melt flow index, colour and intended process: film, blow moulding, injection moulding or raffia. A technical data sheet accompanies each grade. Lucro produces recycled granules from post-consumer waste at its RecyClass-certified facility in Gujarat.
