rLDPE (Recycled Low Density Polyethylene)

rLDPE is recycled low density polyethylene. It is made from used polyethylene film such as carry bags, milk pouches, shrink and stretch film, liners and courier bags, which carry resin code 4 and usually contain both LDPE and LLDPE.

Film waste is light, bulky and often dirty, so producing good rLDPE depends on careful sortation, intensive washing and fine melt filtration during extrusion. The granules are used mainly in blown film: refuse sacks, carry bags, construction and agricultural film, and packaging films such as shrink wraps, as well as pipes and moulded items. Natural and light-coloured grades allow higher recycled content in clear packaging. Lucro specialises in this stream, turning post-consumer flexible plastic into rLDPE grades for blown film and packaging.
