TDS (Technical Data Sheet)

A technical data sheet, or TDS, is the document that describes a specific grade of material and lists its tested properties. For plastic granules, it is the basis on which a converter decides whether a grade will run on a machine and meet a product specification.

A TDS for recycled granules typically states the polymer and origin, recommended applications, melt flow index, density, tensile strength, elongation, flexural modulus, impact strength, moisture and ash content, with the test method for each value. It should be read together with a certificate of analysis for the delivered batch, since a TDS gives typical values. Recycled material varies more than virgin, so consistent, batch-tested data is a mark of a reliable recycler. Lucro publishes a technical data sheet for each grade of rLDPE, rHDPE and rPP.
