Injection moulding is a manufacturing process in which molten plastic is injected under pressure into a closed mould, cooled and ejected as a finished solid part. It produces caps, closures, crates, pails, furniture, appliance housings and most plastic car components.
The process needs material that flows easily and fills the mould, so injection grades have a higher melt flow index than blow-moulding or film grades. Recycled polypropylene and HDPE are both well suited to it. Lucro supplies rPP and rHDPE injection-moulding grades, including PCR and ELV grades of rPP for automotive parts, each with a technical data sheet stating melt flow, impact strength and other properties.
