ELV (End-of-Life Vehicles)

End-of-life vehicles, or ELVs, are cars, two-wheelers and commercial vehicles that have reached the end of their useful life and are sent for dismantling and scrapping. Alongside steel and aluminium, an ELV contains a significant amount of plastic in bumpers, dashboards, door trims and battery cases.

Much of that plastic is polypropylene, which can be recovered, sorted, washed and recycled into automotive-grade rPP. Demand for this material is growing as end-of-life vehicle rules in India and Europe tighten and carmakers set targets for recycled content in new vehicles. Lucro produces ELV grades of rPP from end-of-life vehicle plastic, alongside PCR grades made from household polypropylene.
