RecyClass is a non-profit, cross-industry initiative based in Europe that works to improve the recyclability of plastic packaging and the transparency of recycled content. It develops design guidelines, testing protocols and certification schemes used across the plastics value chain.
Its certifications cover the recyclability of packaging, the recycling process of a recycler, and recycled-content traceability for converters and brands. The Recycling Process Certification audits a recycling plant against the European standard EN 15343, checking the origin of waste, batch traceability and the calculation of recycled content. Lucro’s recycling facility at Vankas, Gujarat, holds this certificate, audited by Control Union, using the controlled-blending chain-of-custody model.
