The Recycled Claim Standard, or RCS, is an international, voluntary standard owned by Textile Exchange that verifies the presence and amount of recycled material in a product. It tracks that material from the recycler to the final product through a certified chain of custody.
RCS applies to products containing at least 5% recycled material. Every site in the supply chain is audited by an independent certification body, and shipments are covered by transaction certificates, so a buyer can rely on the stated recycled content. Unlike the Global Recycled Standard, RCS does not add social, environmental or chemical requirements; it is purely a content claim standard. Many companies hold both. Lucro is certified to RCS and GRS, in addition to RecyClass.
