The circular economy is an economic model that keeps products and materials in use for as long as possible, replacing the linear pattern of take, make and dispose. It rests on three ideas: design out waste and pollution, keep materials circulating at their highest value, and regenerate natural systems.
For plastics, this means designing packaging for recyclability, collecting it after use, recycling it into quality material and using that recycled content in new products. Policies such as EPR exist to fund and enforce that loop. Lucro works across the whole circle, from collection and sorting to recycled granules and finished sustainable packaging.
